Terms of Service

Unity Solar & Utilities (Pty) Ltd — UnityPay Platform

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the UnityPay platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.

2. Service Description

UnityPay is a prepaid utility management platform operated by Unity Solar & Utilities (Pty) Ltd. The platform enables tenants to manage prepaid electricity accounts, make top-up payments, and monitor usage at commercial properties managed by Unity Solar & Utilities.

3. Accounts and Authentication

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorised access to your account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Payments

All top-up payments are processed through Paystack, a licensed payment service provider. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or as determined at our sole discretion. Wallet credits reflect electricity consumption as measured by your meter — balances are consumed as electricity is used.

5. Wallet and Ledger

Your wallet balance is maintained on an append-only ledger. All transactions are final once confirmed. Balance discrepancies must be reported to Unity Solar & Utilities within 30 days of the transaction date.

6. Metering and Billing

Electricity consumption is measured by PNPSCADA-connected meters. Tariffs are applied in accordance with the eThekwini Municipality Business & General Scale tariff structure. VAT is charged at 15% on all transactions.

7. Availability

We aim for maximum platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for losses arising from system downtime, maintenance, or events beyond our control.

8. Personal Information

Your personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unity Solar & Utilities shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

11. Contact

For support or legal notices, contact Unity Solar & Utilities at the property management office or via the contact details provided on your lease agreement.
